La Villa du Port was built just before 1900, close to an active small harbour ("port" in French), where people were fishing, canoeing, washing their laundry... 

The ground it has been built on was formerly belonging to one of the numerous small castles existing in Soisy since the XVIIth century. 

Indeed, in the previous centuries Soisy and its areas have long been considered as a place of relaxation for Parisian wealthy people, who were very eager to eat healthy food, relax along or on the Seine river (canoeing, fishing..) and breath fresh air... Maybe, nowadays we could also enjoy the same experience!
